Alton Center Business Park
GRLT worked with the City of Alton and Clark Properties to secure a conservation easement at the former Owens Illinois Glass Plant and are now assisting with a wetland mitigation project for the Indiana Avenue extension.
Elsah Township
Great Rivers Land Trust is assisting Elsah Township in acquiring approximately 200 acres of land as part of Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Open Land Trust program.
Piasa Creek Watershed Project
During the first year of the Piasa Creek Project, Great Rivers has worked closely with representatives of Illinois-American Water Company as well as the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to verify that all requirements of the contract are being met. As part of the educational component of the project, Great Rivers is also working with Lewis and Clark Community College in implementing the Piasa Creek Watershed Education Team (PC-WET) in area schools.
Godfrey
Great Rivers continues to work closely with the Village of Godfrey in a number of projects. Godfrey will ultimately benefit as the recipient of additional acreage.
