On November 2, 2003, Great Rivers Land Trust hosted an informational event regarding the Boy Scout Lake Project located at camp Warren Levis in Godfrey. Approximately two hundred individuals attended the event on that beautiful fall day. The afternoon affair began with a flag ceremony performed by the local Trails West Council Boy Scouts. The attendees were also entertained by a group of local musicians that played folk music. Guests enjoyed refreshments as they explored the project site. Great Rivers’ staff and Boy Scout leaders were readily available to answer any questions regarding the lake restoration. In addition, informational display boards, a PowerPoint presentation, and educational brochures were made available during the event. The guests left with an in-depth awareness pertaining to the history, progress, and future plans of the Boy Scout Lake.
